Nathan's accomplishment of the day: He is now a roller. He rolled over today! And, he did it over and over again. He seemed so proud of himself. Too cute.
Amanda's accomplishment of the day: dusted. Not nearly as monumental, but certainly worth celebrating.
Here are a few of Nathan's new hobbies. He's hard at work, becoming a genius!

Nathan and the Pups
This is the first time Nathan tried to pet the dogs. It's like he gets it now that they are our pets.

Knecht Love
Katie, Sarah, Camille and Rachel Knecht. Four of the funnest girls living in Southern California.
Aahhh! Just as it should be. A day at the beach with the Knecht girls. Fun, fun, fun.
Memory Lane:
I remember one time Katie and I decided to go to the beach. It was right after one of the Harry Potter books came out. We were both at just about the same spot, so we thought we could go finish at the beach and then discuss. Well, I was surprised because every time I asked Katie what page she was on, she would get further and further ahead of me. Just so you know, I am a fast reader, so I was a little confused. She either is a turbo reader, or she skips ahead. She skips ahead. I'm sure she is also a fast reader, but she was skimming the end of Harry Potter. Who does that? I skimmed all of my college textbooks or any book that I am getting a boring vibe from, but NOT Harry Potter.
During our read, two girls came over with their blankets and they were going to sit down with their own copies of Harry Potter and read at the beach. (We were not as original as I thought). We warned them that we were almost done and kind-of loud (at least I am) and we would ruin the book for them if they sat anywhere near us. They scooted off on their way to find a Harry Potter free spot of beach.
I miss the beach. I could go for a beach day today.
Sending a little love to the Knecht girls.

Happy Days
Well, ladies. I have found some of my old photos that I had misplaced on one of the many computer locations in the house. I don't want to sound ridiculous to say that we have 5 computers in the house, but there it is. Then we have some removable hard drives and a servers, so...you can see how I might misplace some photos.
The happy news is that I have found some gems and will be sharing them with you in the next few days! Your welcome.

Sad news is that we can't seem to find the pictures of Nathan at the hospital! I'm trying not to cry. We have some of them, but are missing a lot. Everyone say a little prayer!

Ice Cream Confusion
I was just watching a program on Ice Cream. It was on the History Channel, so I imagine the information was researched, but I have a very hard time trusting one piece of information.
At the end of the program they announced the most popular ice cream flavors.
#1 Vanilla-not my favorite, but I get that a lot of people buy it for sundaes
#2 Chocolate- okay
#3 Neopolitan- NO WAY!!!! Yuck, Yuck, Yuck. I don't really mind the individual flavors, but why would you put them all together. YOu can't make up your mind? Blah! is all I have to say about that.
#4 Here's the real kicker...Butter Pecan- HELLO????? Really? Not that I mind that people like Butter Pecan, but it's the 3rd favorite across the nation? I really don't believe this.
#5 Cookies and Cream- Still not my favorite, but at least I can understand this one.
What about Rocky Road and Mint Chocolate Chip????

Making up his mind
I just love this video!! Nathan was getting tired and ready for a nap, so half the time he wants to cry, but can't keep himself from laughing. Is this the best thing or what?
Sorry it's a little long, but really, how cute is he?

Wishin I Was Clever
Well, the time has come. I am no longer clever. All of my posts are now just cute pictures of Nathan. Hmmm. I thought I would hold out a little longer, but no. I do occasionally have clever ideas that are interesting and would be fun to blog about, but unfortunately I have chocolate pudding for a brain now. I can't remember anything these days. (Let's all pretend that is a new thing)
So, here we go again. More cute pictures of Nathan. I am having no luck loading a really adorable video of Nathan and the dogs. Hopefully one of these days.
Last night I put him down on the floor in his boppy and he was crying and fussing. Then I dropped his blanket on him. He grabbed a corner, pulled it up to cover his face and within 10 seconds he was completely quiet and asleep. Too cute.

I put him in his crib for his nap this morning and he was really quiet. I assumed he was sleeping and I just love peeking in on him when his is asleep. This is what I saw. He was wide awake, staring at himself in his crib mirror. I hope he doesn't turn out too vain. I mean he's really cute, but we don't want him to have an ego.

And now for his new trick. This is his new favorite thing. The other day, he was wearing pajama bottoms that had feet. I went to go get him from his crib and he had pulled one leg almost all the way off, trying to get at his toes.

Words Cannot Describe
I have always said that I have the sweetest, most wonderful friends. In all the places I have lived, I have been blessed to meet such incredible women. I continue to be amazed each time I move that Heavenly Father has placed people near me fill my life with laughter and love. I am beyond grateful for this gift. To me, it is the most precious demonstration of love.
Today I received a gift from some of my most dear friends. I moved to California after graduating college and over the 5 years that I lived there, I shared so many wonderful memories with my Round Robin girls. Sara, Wendy, Katie, Laura, Liz, Gina, and Rachel. Many of us have moved away and we unfortunately don't get to see each other often, but we continue to keep in touch via The Round Robin. We have an email chain and as we get the RR, we add our message and send it on to the next in line. They add their message and around and around it goes. It often takes a long time to get it back the inbox, but each time it arrives, I have such a gratitude for these women. Not only are they my dear friends, but they are incredible women.
So, let me show you what I got in the mail today. (Click on the pictures to see the details)

Rachel's square. The Felt Family Johnson is the name of the square.

Liz's square. How thoughtful of you. I love our little Family Tree.

Gina's square. So sweet.

Sara's square. Love the design.

N is for Nathan. Darling fabric.

Laura's square. All things sparkly!! I knew your square instantly.

Katie's square. So beautiful.

Wendy's square. I'm obsessing on birds and trees lately. Perfect combination.

Oh how I wish we lived close together so Nathan could enjoy being wrapped in your arms or friendship and love. We will cherish this quilt and continue to think of you each day.
I love you! You're my girls! I miss you terribly!

Time to Step it Up
Alrighty girls. Our friend Rachel is now in 4th place for the Funniest Blog Award. I must admit that I did not vote yesterday. Don't shoot me, I have a sick baby. What would he do without his mother.
We have got to step it up and renew our efforts to get her the recognition she deserves. So click
and keep voting every day!!! Got it?
I don't know what she gets if she wins, but I'm pulling for a new pair of clogs and perhaps another bonnet to add to her collection. Can you call 1 a collection?

I may or may not win Mother of the Year
Yesterday, my friends and I got together at the park and hung out and watched the kids play. I found a perfect spot of shade and hunkered down. I layed out the blanket, pulled up the stroller and was prepared to be mobil if necessary to avoid the creepy sun rays. I stayed in that wonderful spot for 4 hours. I can't really explain what would make me stay at the park for 4 hours except for the fact that I was with fun people. I am inherently lazy, so I actually only got off my blanket once to start a game of kick ball with the kids that were there. I know, this is not true to who I am (see lazy comment) but it just happened. I have no real explanation. So, out of 4 hours, I was in direct sunlight for 10 minutes. Now, why after about 2 hrs did my face get that oh so familiar feeling of 'It's too late, you're already sunburned.' Hm? Now here is the real question of the day. When I felt that and reached into my diaper bag to get some sunscreen, did I not think to apply any to my little munchkin? Hello? If I have a sunburn, maybe, just maybe Nathan will too! Maybe I'll claim that I was overheated and dehydrated, so my brain wasn't functioning properly. I'm pretty sure Dr. Oz would back me up on that. So, Nathan had no sunscreen and poor buster got a sunburn. The confusing, but happy thing is that mine was much worse than his. Stupid kickball. What kind of mother let's her little baby get a sunburn while she applies her own sunscreen? The same kind of mother that does this:
Yep, I fed my 5 month old a popscicle today. I couldn't help myself. He's about to cut his second tooth any moment.

He's a Big Boy Now
Well, the day has finally arrived. Nathan cut his first tooth on Saturday. I found it while feeding him a little of my McDonald's ice cream cone off my finger.
I'm pretty sure that it is a Gerber stage 1 food, right? I mean super creamy, no chance of choking.
He LOVED it. Mama's boy :). I'll take a picture as soon as the tooth is big enough that I don't have to pry his mouth open and get slobbered on, while trying to get a good view.
More proof that I have the perfect baby...the first evidence that he was teething, was that he had a tooth. I didn't even know. Angel boy.
